Meraj Mohiuddin

Dr. Mohiuddin is a Harvard-trained physician and writer. The son of Indian immigrants, he was raised on the East Coast with a strong emphasis on sports and education. With a college background in neuro-science and medical degree from Northwestern University, he moved to Boston to complete his training in Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine.

During that time, he began a 13-year journey writing Revelation. His goal was to create an all-in-one resource that explains the story of Prophet Muhamad (pbuh) in a way that would help him and others connect to the Qur’an.

Shortly after its release, Revelation won top international accolades. Speaking to audiences in the US and around the world, Dr. Mohiuddin recognized the incredible demand for a simple yet powerful approach to the Qur’an and Sirah that creates meaningful change in people’s everyday lives. With that in mind, he devoted the next five years to develop The Revelation Experience, a free on-line learning platform that compliments his book and helps everyday people start their journey of personal transformation through the example of the Prophet (pbuh) and his message.

In the last few years, Dr. Mohiuddin brought his beloved Qur'an teacher, Hasan Hlayhel, on board to help take The Revelation Experience to the next level.

Hassan Hlayhel

Qari Hassan Hlayhel is a life-long student of the Qur'an. The eldest son of Imam Anas Hlayhel, he began memorizing the Qur'an at age 16 and completed his hifdz (full memorization) in three years. 

Hassan then went on to specialize in the Hafs an Aasim style of recitation under Shaykh Yaser Ali, and received an ijazah (certification) at the age of twenty-one. This rigorously preserved certification ensures the accuracy of Hassan's recitation, connecting him through a continuous line of teachers, all the way back to the Prophet (pbuh)!

Remarkably Hassan completed all of this training, while also studying full-time at Arizona State University, where he  successfully completed a challenging major in Computer Information Systems. 

Aside from work and spending time with his family, Hassan also teaches Qur'an to others, including Dr. Mohiuddin.
